Where does the Parish fit in local government structure?
The basic local government structure is County --> District --> Town or Parish. So in our case this is Bucks County Council --> Chiltern District Council --> Little Chalfont Parish Council.What are the Council's responsibilities?
The Parish Council's responsibilities are the following:- Managing the Parish budget, currently around £200,000.
- Managing and maintaining the assets of the Parish.
- Managing the bookings for the Village Hall and the Westwood Park facilities.
- Reviewing all local planning applications and making recommendations to the District.
- Ensuring the general appearance and standards within the Parish are maintained.
- Assisting local residents in dealing with Government bodies including, District, County and Highways Department.
